As many as 60 personnel of South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency were deployed to assist the traffic arrangement during the visit of Pope Francis and Grand Mass at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Central Jakarta.

Personnel are divided into two shifts

South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency Head, Bernad Octavianus Pasaribu, said not only deploying 60 personnel, but his side is also involving four towing trucks.

"Personnel are divided into two shifts. First is 8 AM to 3 PM and second 3 PM to 12 AM," he said, Thursday (9/5).

Those personnel are deployed on Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto, Jalan Kapten Tendean, TL Mampang Prapatan, Jalan Rasuna Said, SCBD or in front of Polda Metro Jaya, Senayan Roundabout, FX Sudirman, Pintu 5 Gelora Bung Karno, TL Asia Afrika, Pintu 1 Senayan, and Gerbang Pemuda Senayan.

"The parking areas for South Jakarta are at Aldiron Yard and Smesco Building," he added.

He appealed to residents who want to travel or do activities around the location of the Grand Mass or heading to the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area to avoid roads affected by the visit or to adjust themselves by diverting routes and following the directions of officers in the field.

"We also appeal to the public not to park their vehicles carelessly. Because, we have provided a towing unit that will take action against vehicles parked carelessly or illegally," he stated.
